I sent my PS3 which was completely dead because it was sort of my only option. Then I read all the negative reviews. Worried? Yes. We were having overheating issues with our PS3. Previously, we remedied this by turning off the system allowing it cool before reuse, however, after time this no longer sufficed. Not only was our system fixed but the return service was exceptionally fast. From California to Florida it took less than 10 days to have the system fixed and returned. Yes, this is an older system but the nostalgia value was worth every penny spent to fix! Highly recommend, will use again if needed!!
What can I say, I’m stunned and blown away! After my launch 60gb PS3 had its GPU reballed, thermal paste replaced including a CPU Delid, and cleaning out the inside of the unit. My PS3 is whisper quiet again. It’s eerie I forgot what it was like. I was experiencing GPU freezing and glitching within minutes of booting before, and now it’s like I went back in time 15 years and have a brand new system. Got the reballing service completed. I live in SoCal so I was able to drop it off. I paid extra for 1-day rush and for the overheat protection service. He actually got it done same-day a few hours later. Wow! This PS3 already had a failure before that was taken to a U-Break I-Fix a few years back and the reflow they performed lasted maybe a couple of months. I found these guys after doing weeks of research on how to fix my PS3. My system had no video and had an overheating problem. After multiple attempts to fix it myself with no success I sent it in. 2 weeks later (honestly wasn't expecting it to get that quick), I got it back AND MY SYSTEM WORKS AGAIN!! Sent of my PS3 to get fixed after sitting in my closet for years. Tried sending it off to another company to get fixed, another reballing service, but they weren't able to plus erased my upgraded HDD thinking thats what it was. Took a month to get the PS3 back from Khaled but when I did the system worked perfectly and seems to run not as loud too, was able to put in my original HDD at still had some of my game saves which I was really happy about. sent my BC ps3 and got it back in early april. fans are much quieter, i'm very happy with the service. i would recommend this as the FIRST shoice to repair your ps3- do not be tempted to try to fix your ps3 with a heat gun and your stove. in the end it's better to let khaled do it.

I had the pleasure of meeting Khaled in person for my PS3 repair. Not only did he bring my PS3 back to life, but he was also a very polite, extremely skilled technician. After being told that my Fat PS3 was "dead" and no good several years ago, I decided to reach out to the kind folks at PS3 Specialist for some help. I don't normally leave reviews, but I feel I owe it to PS3 Specialist to write a short review on their services and to help any potential customers. First of all, I had a Fat 32GB, 4 usb port, PS3 that had the red light of death. I had it repaired at a local shop so I could get the copy of my game out (Bio Shock 2) and after that it sat in my closet for years. In that time I researched place after place. I wanted to try to get this thing working again and thought buying another one would just bring back to this place again. I didn't mention this earlier, but this is my 3rd PS3 of the same model and type. As I looked up reballing services some of the best looking places either stopped doing this type of repair, only did reflow (which is very temporary... more so than a reball) or they seemed very sketchy. Some people on Craig's list and Ebay offered services and had reviews to back them up, but I wasn't ready to go there yet. PS3 Specialist popped up a few times during my search and like any cautious shopper and as a person who makes a few thousand under the poverty line, I was worried. The website seems a bit dated, but it also felt sincere. There's also a physical shop so that was a bonus... not that I live close, but there were reviews discussing the physical location. The prices were pretty decent too so I thought, might as well just risk it. I've seen some bad reviews and as someone who has worked in many eatery's I know that the type of person to post reviews is usually the dissatisfied person so don't let a few bad reviews scare you off if you are interested in this service. I purchased the PS3 re-balling and CPU overheating repair. Everything looks great. The machine is much more quite than it was. It's worked perfectly and Khaled (I'm guessing the owner) kept in contact the entire time and even sent me updates. We talked a bit before too, just to make sure I was getting the right repair service. I don't recall, but I think the diagnostic was free and if it was a different issue, he'd reach out to talk to me about other options, but that didn't happen. I definitely have noticed some positive performances and I feel like I got exactly what I was looking for. The wait was a little long, I don't recall how long it took to get my Ps3 back --maybe a couple weeks-- nothing unrealistic. I haven't been able to really put in a huge chunk of time to play this thing, but I'll come back maybe in a full year to update this. So far the service here was great! I would both recommend this and come back for repairs.

I was fortunate enough to be able to meet Khaled in person and have him perform the repair right in front of me. It was an incredible experience. Khaled is extremely friendly, professional, and knowledgable. He explained every part of the process. Before I took my PS3 into him, the fan was running very, very loud from the moment I would start up a game. He reballed the GPU, replaced the thermal paste and thermal adhesive on the CPU and GPU, and he even noticed that my power supply wasn't the right one for my model (I bought it refurbished from GameStop so I'm guessing they put the wrong one in), so he replaced that as well. He let me try it out for a good half hour and the fan never got louder than a whisper. Now that I've been playing it at home that has stayed the same. I can barely ever hear the fan unless the room goes absolutely silent, and even then, I can still barely hear it. It's like the console is brand new right out of the factory. I highly recommend having Khaled fix your PS3, and if you are able to have it done in person it is 100% worth the rush charge. This is the only repair in the world you can get of this kind. I was a little skeptical about sending in my launch model 20GB PS3 to have it repaired by Kalied (PS3 Specialist). I was reading some reviews on the internet, and ebay about this service provider, and I because a little nervous. But, it seemed the positive reviews outweighed the negative. There is one complaint I did have, and that is I think the communication, and customer service side of the experience could be improved. But, if you fallow all the instructions, include your receipt in your package, and properly pack your PS3, and have a little patience, you won't have any problems with getting your PS3 back. However, he did a really good job on the repair with minimal cosmetic damage to the console. I bought the reballing, and cpu fan mod service, I shipped it to him on December 26th, 2017, and received my console fixed to my door on January 17th, 2018. So, it took about 3 weeks, which is pretty good considering it was a day after Christmas! 4/5 stars for repair service! -1 star for lack of communication.
I bought my ps3 60GB from ebay with a winning bid of 88$, It was advertised as an refurbished console but after an hour of gameplay, the console would get louder and the console would start beeping with the LED light blinking red telling me to turn off the system to let it cool down.I couldn't deal with this so I started searching on the web for repair centers that can fix this problem then I came across this website. I thought i would give this guy a try even though I read the negative reviews about his repair service on google but i decided to trust his reviews on his site and his reviews on ebay since he had alot of positive reviews on those sites. I sent my console off to him on Dec. 23 2017. He recieved it Dec. 28 2017. I got back it Jan. 11. I could've gotten it back faster but he was really packed from orders from the holidays. Turned it on, put game in and waited for an 2 hours to see if it would overheat......Nope works perfectly! No more Red blinking Light and the fan is alot more quieter than it was before i sent it off. I would recommend this guy to get your ps3 working again! I have another dead 60GB i want to get fixed soon so I'm definitely using this service again! Ignore those old negative reviews you'll come across, this guy is the real deal!
Like so many other PS3 owners who find it unacceptable to buy a newer PS3 to replace our original Fat model, getting it repaired is the only option. Luckily, for us there is ps3specialist. I want to thank Khaled for the fantastic job he did repairing my PS3 Fat model. Not only is the workmanship top notch but completed in an expedited fashion. I have sent not one, but 2 launch backward compatible ps3s here. I have tried other local options that only offer reflow which is a very temporary solution. But here, what happens to the machine is nothing short of amazing. Every problem from the loud fan to the overheating has been solved. Even better, firmware downgrade was also an option. The craftsmanship in the work is well worth the cost and the time it took to fix was very reasonable.
Just like any gamer who wants to preserve their TRUE definitive PS3 (cecha01) I took it upon myself to do some open "thermal paste" surgery and I messed up my off/on censer board. Not only that, I even uprooted the censer connector on my motherboard like a idiot. So I took it downtown to a Videogame/Repair store to see if they could fix. They held it for more than 3 weeks. NOPE, they said, and they suggested that I should give up and just by a new Ps3. I refused to just throw it away. Months later, I spotted this service on Ebay accidentally, I was just browsing and read about the service it gives and I looked at the pictures of opened Ps3 motherboards, with a strange machine that appears to stamp CPU/GPU chips on motherboards, also read something about Reballing procedure that is required for BGA packages repair. I was like Whaaa? So i just emailed Mr. Khaled and described my problem with my PS3. Told him I messed up my console after applying Thermal Paste & putting to together, I broke the off/on & eject censer. Khaled said, "No problem send it here. We'll fix it" I ordered the $89 service plus Cpu over-heat repair because, what the hell, my PS3 over 9yrs old. It arrived today 09/22 and I powered it on. AND YESSSS!!! This guy really is the Reballing Genius. My ps3 first stopped working due to the fan going out. I replaced it myself only to find that it did not fix the problem. So I sent it off to a so called "reputable repair shop" only to get it back (after they said it was fixed) and find that it now suffered from RLOD. The next repair shop I took it to said they couldn't fix it and the only chance to get it to work again is to reball the system; a service they did not provide. I finally found the ps3specialist and he put me at ease. Said no matter what the problem was he could fix it.... and that he did! In less than 48 hours after sending him the system he had it up and running, with no loss in memory! He was very helpful, kind and understanding of the issue. I had the reball done in person, which allowed me to watch my PS3 get worked on. Khaled is very knowledgeable, and explained every step of the process to me. My PS3 slim is now running a lot quieter. Definitely recommend getting the repair done in person. I think it's worth the "rush service" fee.

Khaled is the real deal! I purchased his reballing servicer along with the CPU cooling solution. I purchased the rush service and actually took it to his place personally and watched him work on my PS3. It was very obvious that he has a very extensive background in all types of computer hardware repair. I got a chance to pick his brain through the process, and learned how whenever most other people reflow, they end up doing more damage than good to the system. His reballing service is on a professional level that I have never seen. He gets to the actual problem of cleaning the copper oxide build-up (rust) and poor soldering from the GPU. I saw the chips after and they were super clean, as if brand new! When he says he will have your PS3 working like new, that is not marketing. He literally will because he actually restores it to how it would have come out of the factory. Please do not make the mistake I made by taking it to somebody else to get it reflowed. It had more issues after I got it back from reflowed, because it is haphazard process by most repair shops and makes things worse in the long run. Shops that are honest will often send a PS3 to him to perform the reballing process (no joke). The older models of PS3 are really valuable, and you will do yourself a great disservice if you do not repair it in the fashion that you will get from here. If you live close to Rancho Cucamonga, and can afford to do the express service and watch him in action, I HIGHLY RECOMMENED IT. His service is really on a whole other level that is hard to believe until you actually experience it first-hand.

I was playing my ps3 one day and it shut off and beeped 3 time's I let it cool off and tried again and it done the same thing. Don't even bother with local repair stores/techies, this guy is the real deal. It's been 2 months since I had my (8+ years old MGS4 bundle) PS3 reballed with ps3specialist and it's working as if I just bought it 2 days ago. My PS3 had a green light , no display issue, which usually indicated a GPU problem. I had it shipped from BC, Canada down to California. Turns out the GPU was damaged/dead. ps3specialist let me know that there were additional charges for a brand new GPU since the initial reball attempt did not have positive results. I agreed and ps3specialist fixed up my PS3 and now I'm backing to clearing up my backlog of PS3 games.
I had YLOD on my PS3 80GB backwards compatible. Since I lived nearby, I did the rush service and personally took my PS3 to Khaled service center. The service was so fast. I personally witnessed him work to reball the GPU. Along the way I asked him questions about the repair process and I could tell he was an expert. All the steps in the reball process is professionally done. The final result was a PS3 console like new straight from the manufacturing line except better because extra care was taken in the repair to ensure the GPU was soldered carefully. Fair price for good service.
When I got my YLOD I called around and all the places that "repaired it" would only do the reflow method using the heat gun. I was even told that it could last a week, a day few months. So I needed a real solution, which had to be reballing. Luckily I live in SoCal, so I was able to take it there myself, and with the rush service, he fixed it right in front of me. I was expecting to hand him the Playstation and sit on a couch while it was being repaired. I was invited up to the work area, and he walked me through the entire process. He explained that the PS3 I had had been previously reballed, just not by him, and showed me the results of using poor quality materials and cleaned up the mess. at every step, either the board of the chip looked brand new. I can attest that he does do true reballing, (i even saw the solder balls). I told him that the experience of seeing him fix it was worth the rush fee even more than walking out with the console on the same day. I was told if it stops working within a year to simply ship it back to him. Since my system has actually been repaired, I can use it as much as I want. I can't recommend it enough. It was worth the price to bring my Backwards compatible ps3 back to life.
I've had both my launch consoles reballed, one was downgraded as well. Neither actually had a problem as I decided to preemptively take action. My launch day 60GB PS3 bit the dust over 9 years after I bought it. I was watching a video when it shut down suddenly. I tried restarting it but every attempt failed with a blinking red light. That's when I Google searches some answers and figured due to age the thermal paste probably broke down and the system was getting too hot causing overheating. My guess may be right or wrong but I've taken my unit apart a few times to fix minor issues and clean out dust but fixing that was beyond my ability. So I sent it off for repair. It arrived on a Wednesday and was shipped back on a Friday. The unit arrived in proper working order and was even quieter than when it left. I'm assuming the rework is keeping it as cool as when it was new. Definitely glad I chose this service.

Had my backwards-compatible Playstation 3 succumb to the dreaded "Yellow Light of Death," so I checked around for a proper repair. After reading reviews for several services, I felt that ps3specialist was probably the best choice, especially after calling Khaled, and asking him a few questions. I mailed my stricken PS3 to him on a Friday, and he mailed it back to me a couple of business days afterwards. Since we are both in California, shipping both ways was really quick. But does the system work? Yes! Hopefully the service will still be available in the future if it ever fails again. I am glad that I sent it out to be repaired. The price for everything isn't cheap (shipping both ways, packaging, the repair service,) but it is worth it to me to have one system that plays Playstation 1, 2, and 3 games.
Was a little skeptical sending to someone not official, but I didn't have much to lose seeing my console had YLOD and was unusable. I wanted to keep my save data and keep using my backwards compatible PS3 so I gave it a shot and am pleased so far with the results. I was able to turn back on the system, eject the game that got stuck in it, make a full backup which took 14 hours and had me worried to keep it on that long but it managed to handle it just fine, been watching shows through Netflix, Crunchyroll, and my media server just fine for hours, and does fine playing through games with no issues. Couldn't be happier to have my PS3 back in good working condition again.
First of all I have two ps3 fat units. One that works and one that doesn't. I had got burned by Gophermods on sending the ps3 that didn't work (Which it did when I sent it to them) for cooling mods, to which they broke. The one that works was having the infamous stretchy graphics problem (Either bad solder joints balls or bad GPU) and was loud. So I needed to send it out. With a bad experience in mind.... I was reluctant to send my only working unit to ps3 specialist. I didn't know where to go to fix and I didn't feel comfortable tearing apart my ps3 like I did my 360 because the 360 was easy to tear down. So I sent it out to ps3 Specialist. I was glad I did it runs way more silent than before, and doesn't overheat when I do things like visit the PS store. It would get so loud you could hear it from 20 feet away. Now nope... no loud fan. And so far no more stretchy graphics (So far...) The service was excellent and the communication was great. I asked a few questions though annoying questions I'm glad they put up with me. :) So should you send your ps3 for a reball? Well if you had the problems I had ya you should. When I get more money I'm gonna send my broken one see if they can fix it (Turns on no sound or video). So definitely go with this you can't go wrong.
My systems perform better than ever. Not the cheapest service but definitely the most quality work and knowledgeable repair. I have sent three systems, one of which was not repairable without a GPU and that was extra expense. The other two are working flawlessly and Im happy to have my backwards compatible PS3s back in service. I used another repair service before and left one system on overnight and it RLOD. I paid for the reballing service with rush service. I am blown away at how effective this procedure works. The system was an original CECHA01 backwards compatible model. The system always ran hot and had various problems. Picture worked at times, loading times were bad, ps2 and ps1 games worked at times and it would turn off from over heating. Before sending my system i opened my system up on numerous occasions and would apply a new coat of thermal paste. This went on for months until eventually it just stopped working. After the reballing service i have not experienced any problems what so ever. The system is functioning better than on the first day of purchase. I highly recommend this company for their reballing service because it is truly effective. On top of all this my system was fixed the day they received it and it was returned to me in less than 3 days.
My PS3 was at the yellow light of death stage, as good as dead. This dude, the technomancer, worked his magic and gave it life again. It went from yellow light and shutting off right away to working fine rather than ending up in a garbage dumpster likely leading to a landfill or some other waste. Thank you sir!
I bought this service after about two months of reading on the different services and reading reviews. So I sent it out and about two weeks later I got the system back. And it works perfectly and I got the disc that had been stuck in there for over a year.
Had my Fat 80GB original (backwords compatible) PS3 back about 3 weeks: I came into this a little bit leery because it is a small business across the country from me and doesn't have the "safety net" of a big company, but he did an awesome job repairing it and sent it back really quickly! I tracked my shipment along the way and most of my wait was the shipping process itself. My PS3 is running great and quieter than it has been in years (and I didn't pay any extra, just reballing service + shipping). I have heard others who sent their unit to Sony/other places get different units back, but mine was the exact same machine (case and Serial No. matched, with my hard drive unaffected). Best of all, he offers a 1 year warranty, which is comforting when I know that it could easily happen again, and it also seems like a good motivator for him to do a great job the first time. The only minuscule criticism that I can think of is that he didn't respond to my email when I sent my shipping number and asked if he did indeed receive it, but this honestly didn't matter, because he worked on it right away and sent it back a couple days later. Since this is "PS3 specialist" not "communications specialist", I'm totally satisfied with his methods, and would prefer he continue to focus on the repair job. 6 out of 5 Stars
I realize that there are lot of people claiming lots of different things when your PS3 gets YLOD. I have a 60GB PS3 where this happened and I seriously considered junking it and buying a new PS3. I mean, the thing is old, but after reading numerous reviews and doing some research, I ended up here. This is the real deal. PS3 was fixed in a couple of weeks and returned to me. It works perfectly now. If you have any concerns about doing this, don't. If your PS3 is YLOD and it's likely from the solder, send it here. You won't be disappointed.
My launch day 60Gb PS3 got the YLOD several months ago and considered re-flowing it myself but the cost to purchase all the tools and machines that PS3SPECIALIST uses would've made it cost prohibitive, not to mention the fact that I didn't have near the experience with re-flowing chips that he does. It made the decision easy to make to let PS3SPECIALIST re-ball my console, couldn't be happier with the results, even opted to install a 1Tb SSHD in my once again working PS3. Can't recommend his services enough.
When my original 60gb backwards compatible ps3 stopped working, I thought there was nothing i could do but ger a new system and lose all of my saves and content. but PS3SPECIALIST fixed it! after a few months of use now its still going strong. overall took about a month from the day i sent the system out to when i got it back for anyone curious. this is the best quality work for ps3 repair you can get, and worth every penny in my opinion. Recommended to anyone in need of a PS3 repair.
Deliverance from YLOD on my PS3 was accomplished, and I believe it was fixed correctly. Turnaround time at the destination was stellar, but shipping to and from Cali took a while (as expected). I'm glad I found PS3 specialist, nice to have the PS3 back again.
My PS3 was the typical yellow light and eventually the red light of death. This indicates the PS3 has an issue with the GPU and or CPU, usually both. I reflowed (that means heat the board so I remelted the solder) in the processors and that worked for a while but after 6 months it died again. I knew it needed something more in depth (a reball) but I dodn't want to pay over $200 to fix it like other repair shops who also have questionable practices. My wife found these guys on some gaming forums who all vouched for the site's work quality and since word of mouth is the best endorsement we looked it up. PS3 Specialist had great reviews and was less than half the cost of other repair shops, so one day I bit the bullet and bought the repair ticket. I sent it in, got it back a week and a half later. The packing could have been a bit tighter on the return trip but it arrived safely. The PS3 booted up perfectly and worked great right away. They did not update the OS as promised (I have CFW) and even added a couple missing screws to it. Overall, very happy and nice job guys...Your next service should be to find a way to make the PS3 fan quieter!
My Story And Brief Back Ground I am a PlayStation owner since 2004 so i have a lot of games (around 400) PlayStation 2, 3 and 4 combined games. Recently my ps3 the launch model Pal 60 GB model which i upgraded to 200 GB had the serious problem of YLOD issue. Before getting this problem I was well aware of the following facts regarding this generation of consoles. • PS3 THE YLOD issue due to CPU or GPU detachment from the motherboard due to weak soldering points. • XBOX 360 with the RLOD issue. So coming to the matter at hand I was using the respective system from 2006 to 2015 with no problems I had once did the complete thermal paste replacement and fan cleaning service in 2011 through a local shop in UAE where I live and I also upgraded the system with the 19 blade fan. Besides that I did not do any sort of modification to the system. Secondly since the system was being used normally since 2006 I had collected a huge amount of data inside it almost 5000 hours of data (save data and game Data utility) and a lot of pictures were also saved inside it because our family was using the system as a media hub as well. The Role of Ps3 Specialist And (Mr Khalid’s Technical Expertise) My ps3 repair story starts here .The part of the world in which I live in is quite glamorous and fast passed world .In this part of the world the concept for most people is use and dispose and same rule implies on gaming. After getting the YLOD I tried to find a local repair shop that could permanently fix this issue. On the flip side of the coin by speaking with the majority of the people who were having game console repair shops this is what they had to say. • Buy another system its just 700-800 AED/- between (190-200 USD) • We could try to fix it but then u will only use the system for 1-to 1 .5 hour and our service will have no warranty. After about 1 week of endless research I was just browsing an eBay listing of another ps3 60GB (I was planning on buying a backup system) I came along a listing Of Mr Khalids refurbished PS3 with CPU and GPU re-balled. On the first glance I just said it’s a refurbished system it will also fail again but just out of curiosity I scrolled down and started reading all the detailed description of the pain staking procedure which the system had gone through to be fixed and all the details regarding the refurbishment process .After careful reading of the entire page I was 100% convinced that the solution which I was looking for was this I immediately goggled the PS3 specialist and it led me to the respective website. If you have a 60gb PS3, it's probably YLOD'd on you once or twice. And if you're like me, you'd rather keep the 60GB alive instead of getting a new "slim" PS3 that can't play PS2 games. I've had YLOD maybe 3 or 4 times, and have had my PS3 repaired by pretty much all the so called "greats" on the Internet. Endless Electronics, PS3RepairShop, FixMyPlaystation, etc. Don't bother with those guys, Khaled is the only person you should trust handling your PS3 if you want a true, real reball. After having my PS3 YLOD again after the previously mentioned places apparently "fixed" my PS3, I was pretty skeptical of ANYONE who would call themselves a "PS3 Specialist." So I called the number with a ton of questions to be sure I knew what I'd be buying. Khaled picked up, and was very polite, answered every single question I had, told me step by step what needed to be done given my PS3's symptoms (PS3 getting extremely hot, fan kicking in, and console shutting off immediately, sound familiar?). He even went so far as to diagnose what the other repair shops had done and explained why it didn't work as well as they said it would. Seemed to good to be true, so I decided to test my luck and ship it to him, and I couldn't be happier that I did. Turnaround time was phenomenal; I received my PS3 back within a business week. And when I finally got it back, there was no arbitrary "break-in" period like there was for all my other repairs: my PS3 was ready to go right when I plugged it in, no playing for 1-2 hours for 30 hours. PS3 was quieter than I had EVER heard it before, all ports and drives were working good as new, and heck he even did a pretty nice job buffing and shining the console. All for around $120, plus shipping. I've been playing it for a few weeks to make sure everything's A-ok, and I couldn't be happier. If you have a 60gb PS3, and want it to last as long as possible, look no further. As someone whose been burned by other repair shops, I can't recommend Khaled's repair enough. System was taken care of and works upon return. Just wish there were updates to make sure system was received by them and updates on status were given. Otherwise was a great job.
I have been looking for a place to repair my PS3. I had 2 reflows before but that wasn't cutting it anymore and the unit had been dead for almost 2 years. After a few nights of research of places, came across this one, read a lot of reviews both on the site and ebay. Contacted him said what my problem was and he said no problem. sent the unit in, got it back a few days later and had many hours put on it with no problems at all !!! I highly recommend this shop!
My Original 60 PS3 YLOD and I took it to be reflowed. Within a month it died again. I saw other boards had recommended PS3Specialist for a reball and no one ever had any issues. Shipped it out to Khaled, and he had it fixed and shipped out the same day he received it, while keeping in contact with updates. Total turn around time including shipping, 3 days. And now works perfectly. Highly recommend.

My PS3 60G had been "reflowed" a few times in 4 years. The tech that did the work recommend I "reball" it but couldn't give me a place that did it. All the searches I did found me places on the East Coast until I found PS3SPECIALIST. He was local to me So. Cal. and allowed me to drop off/pick up. I met Khaled at his home. He's very personable and friendly. Answered every question I had. I picked up my PS3 the next day. And has been working since. The fan doesn't come on as much as it did and it (to me) seems to operate faster (ie...boot up, game load) I highly recommend him to anyone that wants to keep their PS3 (20 gig to early 80 gig) playing those PS2 games and others.
